Learn the A to Z of documentary filmmaking and make your first movie. Whether you are interested in documentary filmmaking, fiction film, or even social media and corporate content, the concepts you will learn are applicable to all areas.

Learn By Doing

While we can't avoid some theory and "classroom" lessons, our focus is on practice - learning by doing. Through in-class workshops and take home exercises, you will sharpen your moviemaking skills and build confidence in your creative voice.

Lighting

Dive into the art of lighting to create atmosphere and visual depth. You will learn how to professionally light interviews and scenes - even on a budget.

Course Overview

Storytelling

Find strong ideas, structure them well, and learn to pitch your story effectively. Understand what makes a story memorable and how to make your audience care.

Editing

Turn hours of footage into a cohesive, emotionally resonant documentary. You will learn the entire post-production process: selecting the best takes, editing, sound design, and colour correction using DaVinci Resolve.

Camera Techniques

Get hands-on with camera settings, framing, movement, and lens choices. You will learn how to shoot with intention and create sequences that support your story.
